School 18 Project is an oral history project with the purpose of sharing and preserving the history of Park Circle and its connecting neighborhoods via storytelling. The project initially began in September 2011. Founded by Clinton Green, who grew up in the area in the 1970’s and 80’s, it simply initiated as a labor of love project. Its name is in honor of Franklin D. Roosevelt, School No. 18, the elementary school Clinton attended.
The bulk of the project lived on Facebook because of its ability to curate conversations. In 2018, the page was discontinued to dedicate time to refocus the mission. The website has not been updated for an extended period of time but a significant level of work has been completed in the interim. A totally rebranded project and website will debut the summer of 2019. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or interest in the project.
